-Fifi- 

     I've been in the bridal and fashion couture industry for over 35 years and I still love it.  Throughout those years, I raised two now grown young men as a single mom and all the while I balanced working with and freelanced for several high end bridal salons in Michigan and also designers from Europe.  On top of that, I worked from my home during that time with my own dressmaking/alterations business.  Meanwhile, in the course of all this I have acquired the nickname of Fifi.  As time went on more people knew me by Fifi rather than my real name.  A few times I would be ready to start a fitting and the client would have a look of concern on her face and say "Um, I thought Fifi was doing the fitting?"  I would just smile and say "oh that's me, sometimes I forget I go by both, Michele and Fifi".  Then of course we laugh and the look of concern goes away because she knows she's in great hands.  So there is it.  Yes, I am Fifi .

     I am very professional, a great listener but most of all is the fact that I actually care.  I will say, out loud, that there are far too many 'seamstresses' out there who tell the bride what to do or just be rude.  To make matters worse they cut corners.  Basically instead of going through the process of an alteration correctly they figure cutting corners would be ok and go unnoticed.  I get furious just thinking about it!   I have never told a bride what to do, ever!  I listen and help guide her to achieve her vision to have her look amazing.  In fact, I have fixed countless dresses that other so-called seamstresses had messed up in my career.

     Bridal seamstresses are a dying breed and I am proud to say that I am one of them.  I love treating each client like she's the only one I have and give her my full attention.  I will never say that I can do something to a dress knowing it can't be done just to get their money and then mess it up.  I am very honest with them.  If I don't think something physically can be done to the dress, I will say so.  I will do everything in my power to give them what they want.  But in the instance that it can't be done, I will rack my brain to find a similar idea or come up with something no one has ever thought of.

     Needless to say, I was born to do this and it shows in my work and treatment of my clients.  When I see and hear how happy they are I am truly humbled.
